Description:
The VICTOR 6236P is a 2-in-1 digital tachometer that combines both contact and non-contact measurement methods for versatility. With its laser technology, users can measure rotational speed (RPM) without touching the object, which makes it safer and more convenient. In addition, it supports contact measurement, allowing accurate readings of surface speed when direct contact is possible. Therefore, this dual functionality ensures that the device is suitable for a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications. Moreover, its compact design and clear digital display make it easy to operate in different environments. As a result, technicians, engineers, and automotive professionals can rely on it for fast and precise speed measurements.
Key features:
- Measurement modes: The 6236P offers versatility with two measurement types:
- Laser (non-contact): Measures RPM from a safe distance by pointing a laser beam at a piece of reflective tape on the rotating object.
- Contact: The device uses an included contact wheel or touch tips to physically touch the object, and therefore it can measure both RPM and surface speed. Moreover, this method ensures higher accuracy when non-contact measurement is not suitable. In addition, the combination of contact and non-contact modes makes the tachometer versatile for different industrial tasks.
- Measurement ranges:
- Non-contact RPM: 2.5 to 99,999 RPM.
- Contact RPM: 1.0 to 19,999 RPM.
- Contact surface speed: 1.0 to 1999.9 meters per minute (m/min).
- High accuracy and resolution: The meter provides high-resolution measurements with an accuracy of ±0.05% + 1 digit, using a 4MHz quartz crystal time base for stable and precise readings.
- Data memory: The device can automatically store maximum, minimum, and last measured values, which can be recalled for analysis.
- Display: It features a 5-digit, large LCD screen with a backlight for clear and easy viewing.
- Convenient features:
- Auto-range: Automatically adjusts the measuring range for optimal performance.
- Auto power-off: Shuts down automatically after about 15 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
- Low battery indication: Alerts the user when the battery voltage drops.
- Included accessories: The standard package includes reflective tape for non-contact measurements and a contact wheel with touch tips for contact measurements.
How to use the VICTOR 6236P:
- Prepare the target:
- For non-contact (laser) measurement, apply a small, square piece of the provided reflective tape to a clean, smooth spot on the rotating shaft. If the shaft is already reflective, cover it with black tape first.
- For contact measurement, attach the appropriate rubber tip or wheel to the meter.
- Select the mode: Turn on the device. Some models have a function (FUNC) button to switch between non-contact (photo) and contact measurement modes.
- Take the measurement:
- For non-contact measurement, point the meter’s laser at the reflective tape from a distance of 50–500mm and press the measurement button.
- For contact measurement, press the contact tip against the center of the rotating shaft.
- Read the display: The RPM will be shown on the LCD screen.
- View stored data: Press the memory (MEM) button to cycle through the maximum, minimum, and last measured values. Furthermore, this feature allows users to compare different readings efficiently. As a result, it helps in analyzing performance trends and ensures more accurate monitoring over time.
