- Voltage Measurement: 500V (AC and DC)
- Maximum Resistance: 1999 ohms
- Maximum Display Count: 1999
- Jaw Opening: 32 mm, with an inner jaw diameter of 30 mm
- Power Supply: Two AAA batteries
- Display: LCD with a data-hold function
- Additional Functions: Diode testing and continuity buzzer
How to use the TN55 clamp meter:
The TN55 combines the functions of a clamp meter and a digital multimeter. For current measurements, it uses its jaws to clamp around a single conductor. For voltage and resistance, it uses test leads.
Measuring AC current:
- Turn the rotary dial to the “AC Current (A∼)” setting.
- Press the trigger to open the jaws and clamp them around a single, isolated wire.
- Ensure the wire is centered within the jaws for the most accurate reading.
- The current will appear on the display. Use the “Hold” button to freeze the reading if necessary.
Measuring voltage:
To measure voltage, insert the black test lead into the COM jack and the red test lead into the VΩ jack. Select either AC or DC voltage on the dial and touch the probes to the circuit points you want to measure.
Measuring resistance:
Before measuring resistance, ensure the circuit is de-energized. Insert the black test lead into COM and the red lead into VΩ. Select the “Ω” setting on the dial and place the leads across the component.
